Imphal, October 16:
The woes and controversies dogging the District Industries Centre (DIC), Churachandpur seem to be never ending.
The ongoing personal interview of candidates for selection of PMRY beneficiaries for various trades for the year 2003-2004 has been suspended again as the Guwahati High Court has ruled that no new beneficiaries be selected until the case of backlog candidates is resolved.
The Centre here has so far completed personal interview of 300 candidates since October 9, 2003 for various trades.
There are a total of 1616 applicants this year for business trade, service trade and industry.
Out of that only 113 beneficiaries will be selected.
Sources said that cases have been filed in the Guwahati High Court by as many as five groups of candidates who have not get the money after being promised in the previous years.
