In one of its collective and unified exercises at both political and military platforms, the constituents of the Manipur People's Liberation Front (MPLF) observed the fifth National Black Day at an undisclosed area situated at the Indo-Myanmar Border on October 15.The focal point of the occasion is to express their solidarity to work together for a common cause.
M Nongyai Secretary Organization of UNLF, KK Mangang Chairman of KCP, Subhash General Secretary of PREPAK, Chinglemba Mangang Defence Secreatry and chief of army staff of PREPAK and Hangkhanpao of ZDV were present to supervise the occasion with their troops.
Defence Secretary of PREPAK Chinglemba Mangang who was the guest of honour at the function read out the statement of the Manipur People's Liberation Front, which focused on the prevailing scenario that has necessitated to constitute a collective and unified platform to meet the challenges with a clear agenda.
He said that the organizations that have formed the MPLF decided to work collectively to achieve a common goal.
General Secretary of PREPAK and a member of the MPLF's permanent body Subhash, disclosed that the members of MPLF would be setting a new organizational framework with a specific objective to function under one unified unit.
He also disclosed that Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) expressed its desire to collectively work with MPLF and modalities are being worked out to integrate them within a short period of time.
Under the common banner 'Unity is strength, Unity is Courage', the permanent body of the MPLF is also to embark upon a new strategy to minimize the economic burden on the people by streamlining the methods of collecting funds for the organization.
While cautioning those involved in using the names of the organization to obtain personal benefits in terms of receiving contract or supply works from the government, the leaders expressed their serious concerns for the misuse of funds.
On the issue of leadership crisis of KCP, KK Mangang and leaders of MPLF stressed that serious efforts are being made to resolve the issue at different levels.
They were optimistic that leaders of KCP stationed at different areas would realize the necessity unite and work together under a strong and common platform.
They attributed the differences among KCP leaders to lack of communication.
The MPLF leaders also disclosed that the KCP has decided to halt its fund collection of all kind with immediate effect.
Secretary Organization UNLF M Nongyai, emphasized the signing or the agreement between the then Maharaja of Manipur Bodhachandra and the Indian Union in the 1949 as illegal, unconstitutional and was against the aspirations and the will of the people of the Kingdom.
He also said that Manipur was one of the first nations in the south east Asia to have an elected government with a constitution after the British left the kingdom in the year 1949.
