Imphal, October 16: As observed in other parts of the world, World Food Day was observed today at many places in the State under the theme International Alliance against Hunger.

The Organization for Social and Economy Development, Moirangkhom observed the day at its office premises with Soram Natum Singh, MLA and M Tonjao, chief consultant, AFSTMC as chief guest and president respectively.

The day was also observed by the Association of Food Scientists and Technologist (India), Manipur Chapter at its office.

Observance was also held at Keirao and Thongju organized by Community Food and Nutrition Extension Unit, Imphal, Govt of India in collaboration with NCUI, ICM Lamphelpat.

The world Food Day 2002-03 under the theme 'International Alliance Against hunger' was also observed today at the office of Directorate of Agriculture, Sanjengthong.
