Villagers peeved over incomplete road work

Imphal, May 20: Unhappy over the execution of the contract works for construction of a new connecting road from Kachai to Theiva via Ngari Leshang, Headman of Theiva Village HK Shimthing has lodged a complaint with the Director of Vigilance Department for taking up neccessary action against the concerned contractor.

The contractor concerned has not completed the work although he has already submitted the work completion report to the Government, the village headman said, adding that the affected villagers are facing lot of difficulties in performing their day-to-day work, apart from causing inconvenience to the general public who passed the route.

The village headman clarified that he has delayed in lodging the complaint as the said contractor has giving false promises of completing the road construction work repeatedly.

The village head urged the Vigilance Director for issuing necessary orders to conduct an spot inquiry so that the guilty contractor is not left scot-free.
