Imphal, May 20:
The Secretary of the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur N Kunjabihari has informed that the result of the 2005 HSSLC exam was declared ahead of the CBSE result unlike in previous years to help the students seek admission in reputed colleges outside the State.
Earlier, the HSSLC result was declared weeks after the declaration of the CBSE results and this had created a lot of problems to the students of the State who were aiming to pursue their further studies outside the State as admission in most of the colleges would be over by the time HSSLC results were declared.
Even though the pass percentage is slightly lower than last year, the quality of the students who sat in 2005 HSSLC exams is comparatively higher than the previous examination candidates, opined the secretary and to prove his point informed that the number of students who secured star marks in 2005 HSSLC exams was much higher than the previous years.
It may be noted here that number of students who crossed the 370 marks in total was only 17 in 2004 whereas the students securing this total increased to 84 this year.
The secretary also stated that most of the students with high percentage will find no problem in finding admissions in reputed colleges outside the State as the results have been declared very early this year.
He further said that more than 400 students who passed the examination have come to the Council to collect their mark sheets.
