Imphal, December 29: The ban imposed by the Manipuri Students' Federation on Miss Manipur contest 2005 to be organised by Nachom has been lifted following an understanding reached between the organisers and MSF.

The understanding was reached today during a meeting held at the conference hall of the State Guest House.

The meeting attended by leader of MEELAL, Chingshubam Akaba as moderator and presided by president of MSF, Sorokhaibam Sanjoy was participated by representatives of Nachom and others.

The prominent points of the agreement include adorning the contestants with traditional attires and playing of traditional music and constitution of a sub-committee comprising of representatives of MSF and Nachom and other experts to facilitate organisation of such beauty pageants in future.

Taking part in the meeting, president of All Manipur College Teachers' Association, P Laingam observed that contestants adorning traditional attires would be in the interest of all and against the strong current of globalization.
