MUSU president Kh Ashokumar who was released yesterday after being abducted on September 6 has appealed to all the underground outfits and the security force to make Manipur University a free zone, where the students can go about with their activities without any fear or intimidation.
Talking to newsmen at the MU guest house today, the student leader said that what happened to him was very unfortunate and appealed to all concerned not to allow such incidents occur in the future again.
To ensure that the academic atmosphere at MU is not disturbed, the student leader appealed to the underground outfits and the security force declare MU as a free zone.
Ashokumar also expressed his gratitude to DESAM, AMSU, MU teachers and the student community and others who appealed for his safe release.
Vice president of MUSU Th Shyam and general secretary D Kamei also expressed their gratitude for releasing the MUSU president safely without any harm.
