JAC call for cease fire conformity

Imphal, February 04: Asserting that the hill based underground outfits presently under cease fire agreement with the Indian Army have been levying exorbitant taxes on daily, monthly and annual basis, the JAC of ImphalMoreh Road Transporters has called upon the authority concerned to initiate corrective measures so that these UG outfits conform the ground rules of the cease fire agreement.

A statement issued by the JAC also noted that Government agencies and officials have been exacting various forms of unaffordable taxes in between Imphal and Moreh irrespective of whether there is toll gate or not.

Observing that the cease work strike is compelled by all these excesses both from the non governmental bodies and government officials, it lamented the indifferent attitude of the State Government even as the cease work strike has completed three days.
