Imphal, February 04: Consequent upon the suspension of referee Shahji Kurien from the panel of referees of National Football League by All India Football Federation, the proposed restriction to be imposed on all activities of All Manipur Football Association with effect from January by the Committee for Implementation of Peoples' Decision on Santosh Trophy 2005 has been relaxed until the next Santosh Trophy.

A statement issued by the Committee remarked that Kurien was responsible for the unjustified ouster of Manipur from the last edition of Santosh Trophy.

However the Committee maintained that punishment awarded to unethical referee is not yet commensurate to his misdeed.

Further it urged AMFA and AIFF to ensure commensurate punitive actions against the erring referee one month ahead of the commencement of the next edition of Santosh Trophy.

If no such actions are initiated by the deadline, the Committee has resolved not to send Manipur team to the next Santosh Trophy.
