AS THE 28th Senior Men's and Women's State Level Handball Tournament 2008-09 organised by Indira Memorial Club (IMC) Thoubal at Angou Khongbal ground, Thoubal Leishangthem under the aegis of Manipur Handball Association concluded today, the Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) clinched winners' title in both men's and women's categories.
It may be recalled that MPSC entered men's final after defeating BBA, Mayang Imphal 25-16 in the first semi final match played yesterday.
On the other hand, IMC also entered final after defeating Public Club, Top 27-22 in the second semi final match played yesterday.
The tournament was participated by seven different teams in men's category.
In today's match players of both team played the match substantially with an aim to win the match in their mind.
Each team found it hard to dominate one another.
As the match concluded with big efforts of both team's players, MPSC beat host IMC 18-14 and won the match.
All the efforts of the players of IMC went into vain when they lose the match in the hand of MPSC.
In the first semi final match of women's category played between MPSC and KSC yesterday, MPSC beat KSC 18-10 and entered final round.
On the other hand in Sports Authority of India, Imphal beat host Indira Memorial Club (IMC) 24-11 and entered women's final round.
Players of SAI and MPSC played the final match today with full hope to win the tournament.
They tried hard to dominate over one another.
Score position went almost same from the very beginning.
Players of SAI put their best efforts to win the match.
But MPSC players were also in a firm position to attack and defend with one single aim to win the match.
Spectators witnessed a very interesting match between the two teams.
Each team trying to edged more and more goal against one another and also trying to defend themselves against the attacks of their oponent in the same time, the match left the spectators open mouth.
But, no matter how hard the players of SAI put their best efforts to win the match, they could not stay long against the onslaughts of MPSC and had to lose the match 11-10 in the hand of MPSC.
