Imphal, January 12 2009:
At least four shops were razed to ashes as a devastating fire broke out within the Naga Hospital complex Sunday midnight in Kohima.
Sources revealed that the fire broke out due to short circuit from one of the shops which turned ravaging and destroyed four shops, one PCO, one pharmacy and two variety shops located just outside the hospital.
Goods worth lakhs of rupees along with some cash were destroyed, sources said adding that the damage has been estimated at Rs.20 lakhs approximately.
The shops were made of CGI sheets and timber.
Colony people and Fire Department helped in controlling the fire before it could effect the other adjoining shops and houses.
