Meiraa, Bashikhong and Seyo, Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai emerged outright winners against respective opponents in the 5th L Dinachandra memorial Division I Hockey tournament 2004 at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium today.
Despite YAC, Yaiskul players exhibiting better finishing skill in the first half and even taking a 2-0 lead through N Jiten (5th) and A Romen (20th), a resurgent Bashikhong side bounced back after the break to not only equalize but record a comfortable 5-3 win over their opponent.
After Th Herojit had pulled back one in the 48th minute a Th Tompok cross was deflected into goal by B Santosh for the Meiraa equaliser in the 57th.With YAC players unable to keep the marauding opponent players Tompok provided the Meiraa lead with a 52nd minute strike only to be neutralized by Bijen in the 63rd.However, Th Herojit and Th Romen scored one goal each within five minutes to dash any revival hope for the Yaiskul who suffered their fifth consecutive defeat in the tournament.
Later, Seyo outplayed KhSC, Khongman 6-2 to record its fourth win so far in the competition.
Seyo suffered one defeat.
RK Tomba drew first blood for the winners within 48 seconds of the match to record the fastest goal of the tournament.
The other Seyo goals came through S Tony (4th-PC), Ksh Sumeshkanta (21st), L Joychandra (54th-PC), H Ahanta (56th & 65th).
