Imphal, January 22:
Nepali Sahitya Parishad, Manipur has mourned the death of Asha Rani Rai who passed away on January 20 at her New Checkon, Imphal residence.
A dedicated social worker who worked for upliftment of Nepali women in the society, Asha Rani played a pivotal role in introduction of Nepali language in Secondary curriculum.
She was also honoured with Bhasha Sangrami title and was known as Manipuri Ki Didi (Sister of Manipur) by Nepali community all over India.
