Based on specific information, the district police headed by the SP/ Ccpur LD Lhatoo IPS, Additional SP Sudhirchandra Singh, MPS, SDPO/ Ccpur Mr Lunsieh Kipgen IPS and OC/ Ccpur PS Thangpi Tonsing along with personnel from the 1st IRB raided a house at Ngathal village and seized some incriminating materials including Rs 1.5 lacs in cash around 4 pm today.
Police sources said that they saw at least two militants running out of the house when they reached the scene and a brief exchange of fire ensued, but there are no casualties.
The owner of the house where the documents were recovered, one Lalrokim alias Rokima Mizo s/o Lenchhia of Ngathal village was also arrested and is presently kept at the police station here.
The items seized in today's operation comprises of one standard Wireless Set, one portable type writer, four letter head books of the KCP, one electric stabilizer, one TV Set with remote, one inverter with battery, Rs 1.5 Lacs in cash and some clothings.
Another unconfirmed source also said that a man was nabbed by the army personnel this afternoon from Zion Street, Tedim road here.
He is said to be a PLA member even though his identity remains yet to be established.
