Imphal, March 05 2013:
While strongly condemning the ghastly incident of setting one Soshima Keishing (24) of Silent Village, Senapati district, afire by a non-local on Feb 27 last at Lamlongei, Mantripukhri, the Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal (TKLI) urged the concerned authority to take fitting against the culprit as per law of the land.
Soshima Keishing is married to a non-local, named Chandal Kal, a native of Silchar, Assam four years back.
Chandal has been working at Tulihal Airport.
The TKLI, in a statement, maintained that on Feb 27 around 7.30pm, Soshima's husband, in collusion with her mother-in-law and sister-in-law fastened her hands and covered her mouth with cloth and poured kerosene oil on her body and set on fire.
Quoting the version of the doctor, the TKLI said Soshima suffered 40 percent burn injury and she is struggling for life at RIMS Hospitals.
