Chairperson of Manipur State Commission for Women, Dr Ch Jamini has called upon the women of the state to open their eyes.
She was speaking at an awareness programme on women's rights held today at the premises of Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (JIMPAL), Jiribam.
Dr Jamini said, Jiribam is one of the most backward areas of the state.
The State Commission for Women has heard the sufferings of the women of the area.
She said, the commission members have heard the sufferings and hardships of women in Jiribam area while the commission conducted a tour at places like Nungcheppi, Leingangpokpi, JiriKeithel, Dibong, Islamaband, Champangar, Ninghtembam, Ningthem Khunou, Lalpani, Kadamtala, and Gulathol.
Dr Jamini told the women of the area to intimate the MSCW when faced with troubles or gender discrimination.
The occasion was graced by president of JIMPAL, K Subhashini, member of MSCW, Lhingjaneng Gangte, and legal advisior of MSCW, Ch Narendra as the presidium members.
The commissione members have an interaction session with the participants.
