Imphal, May 25:
AMADA kakching Local Council has issued a strong warning to owners and operators of public and goods carriers to ensure their vehicles are not used as carriers of illicit liquors and other substances hazardous to health and society failing which appropriate punitive action would be initiated.
The AMADA reminder comes in the wake of the Council volunteers seizing 100 litre of country brew from a rickshaw (7090) at kakching Sabal Leikai Bhamon Pareng yesterday evening.
Even though identity of the absconding rickshaw puller could be confirmed as one Mayanglambam Ingo (30) s/o M Tombi Singh of Kakching Wairi Sabal Leikai Bhamon Pareng, the actual rickshaw owner is some other individual, said an AMADA release.
Observing that some truant elements have been smearing images and integrity of hard-working individuals through their indulgence in nefarious activities and reiterating its warning to the owners and operators to desist from such harmful practice, AMADA also asked M Ingo to surrender to the Kakching Local Council within May 27.
