The New Lambulane Welfare Committee convened a general meeting of the people living in New Lambulane, Imphal East on May 19.Attended by 145 members, various resolutions were passed during the meeting in connection with all round developments of the area with regard to sanitation, water supply, air pollution, free zone, electricity and law and order situation, etc, informed Committee secretary Thangmang Haokip in a delayed statement.
The meeting expressed dissatisfaction and grievances over the slow process of the ongoing Tribal Market complex construction at New Lambulane in contrary to the assurance given by the Chief Minister, Tribal Development Minister and other Cabinet Ministers on their visit on October 4, 2003.The meeting also expressed concerned over the failure of the Government to initiate for timely completion of the same since it is the only one of its kind for the tribal people in Manipur.
The meeting also resolved to extend full co-operation to the Women Nisabandh which was formed in 2006 and has been working in full swing in maintaining peaceful co-existence among the general public and among the inhabitants of the village in particular.
