Imphal, May 11:
Reacting strongly against the silent posture maintained by the State's MPs on the gang rape of a student from the North East at New Delhi a few days back, All India Students' Federation Manipur has today stated that the three Ministers should step down from their post as they have failed to carry out their responsibilities.
It further stated that the three MPs instead of remaining indifferent to the issue should bring forward the matter on the floor of the parliament and demand a proper inquiry so that the culprits could be booked and pubished according to the law of of the land and further said that if the MPs are not able to press their demand on the floor of the Parliament then they should immediately resign from their post.
Meanwhile, Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) while terming the recent rape of a young North East girl at New Delhi as barbaric and inhuman has termed the State Govt's indifferent attitude to the incident as very unfortunate.
Asserting that frequent attacks on students from the NE is a clear testimony to the fact that people from the NE region are treated as second class citizens by people from mainland India, MSF said that such attitude of the mainland people is creating a sense of alienation among the North East people.
