The post harvest and greatest festival of the Chin-Kuki-Mizo group �Kut� was also celebrated at Moreh with gusto and cultural fervour yesterday as celebrated in other parts of the State.
The Kut festival celebrated under the theme "Kut for peace, unity and progress" was also participated by a large number of people belonging to other communities.
The morning session of the celebration was graced by Industries and Commerce Minister N Mangi as special chief guest, Onjamang Haokip as chief guest and Chandel DC Nobert Disinang as functional president while ADC Moreh TH Chothe and SP Chandel G Bimolchandra were the guests of honour.
The main features of the morning session were presentation cultural dances by different cultural troupes belonging to different communities of Moreh.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister N Mangi appealed to the denizens of Moreh to promote brotherhood and peaceful co-existence so as to bring about progress in the border town in tandem with India's Look East policy.
The main highlight of the evening session was the Miss Kut contest 2006.The Miss Kut crown was won by Florence Hoikhohat while Vahneikim Haokip was adjudged first runners-up as Ngaineichong Touthang bagged the second runners-up title.
