The Ist State level Gram Shree Mela (GSM) cum Buy-Seller Meet (BSM), 2008 to be participated by producers coming from 10 States including the seven North Eastern States would be held at Hapta Kangjeibung here for 10 days starting from March 5. To be organised by Integrated Rural Development and Educational Organisation (IRDEO), Wangbal under the sponsorship of Council for Advancement and People's Action and Rural Technology (CAPART), the theme of the Mela would be 'Wealths of villages'.
In all 130 stalls would be set up and apart from producers from the seven North Eastern States, delegates from other States like Jammu & Kashmir, West Bangal, Orissa, Delhi, Bihar, Bangalore and Madras would be participating in the mela.
Announcing this at a press conference here at Manipur Press Club today, spokesperson of IRDEO Ng DK Singh said the proposed Mela would ensure the public to buy the products of the producers at a lower rate and facilitate them to interact with the producers.
During the course of the Mela, a workshop would also be organised on how the producers can market their finished products as well as on design and packaging of the products in a professional manner.
