Imphal, April 08 2009:
Councillor of Ward no.7 of Imphal Municipal Council (IMC) Ch Joykumar Singh has alleged that the electoral identity cards which are supposed to be distributed at the nearest police stations are being distributed by the Congress workers during their house campaign for the upcoming 15th Lok Sabha election.
The Councillor has filed a complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer of the State in this connection.
In the complaint, the Councillor urged the Chief Electoral Officer to take up necessary action deeming it as violation of the election code of conduct laid down by the Election Commission of India.
