Imphal, April 08 2009:
Former Chief Minister and BJP candidate in inner constituency for the coming Lok Sabha elections, W Nipamacha today asserted that he had toured more than 30 non-communist countries to prove himself finer than CPI candidate Dr Nara, who claimed to have toured various foreign countries in their sustained efforts to woo voters for the coming general elections to 15th Lok Sabha.
W Nipamacha said that Dr Nara had visited only communist countries while he had toured more than 30 non-communist countries while addressing an election related BJP meeting today at Lilong Turel Ahanbi Dam.
While saying that Manipur has two Lok Sabha MPs inner and outer- and one Rajya Sabha MP, W Nipamacha, referring to the outer background of Dr Nara said that the inner constituency will have no MP if Dr Nara is elected in the coming election.
He said that no one will vote for Dr T Meinya because nobody likes the Congress and MPP is a small party which will have no chance to speak in the Parliament.
Nipamacha claimed that he had created the Minority and Other Backward Classes Department during his term as the state Chief Minister while also promising other measures to uplift the minority communities if he is elected.
He lambasted the Congress of not sending a minority representative in the Rajya Sabha.
He also said that a Muslim candidate is not given the Congress ticket for the coming election in the state even though the Congress claimed to love the Muslim Community.
The intention of the Congress is to use the Muslims as their vote bank.
Quashing the charge of the Congress that the BJP is anti-Muslim, Nipamacha said that there are several BJP Muslim MPs.
Various developmental programmes for the Muslims had been implemented during the NDA reign at the Centre.
Nipamacha recalled that a BJP National leader had visited the state during the Meetei-Pangal standoff in the state last decade while no National level leader of other political parties had bothered to visit.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP Manipur Pradesh leader, M Bhorot said that SSA and Mid-day meal have been implemented during the reign of the NDA at the Centre, and AAY scheme has also been started during the NDA regime.
He said that the BJP candidate, W Nipamacha had been twice the Chief Minister of Manipur who is well versed with the situation of the state and urged all to vote in favour of him.
The BJP Manipur Pradesh President, Haobam Borbabu has also addressed the meeting.
