Beneficiaries under the Japanese funded sericulture project for raising silkworm as the first phase under the Sericulture department have complaint of non-release of the amount to them even as the amount is said to have been utilised.
Sources informed that the Sericulture Minister, L Jayentakumar had said on September 4 last year that utilization certificate has been submitted as the Rs 134.52 crore had already been utilised as the first phase of the Japanese funded sericulture project.
But it has been reported that the concerned beneficiaries are yet to receive the amount.
Eyebrows have been raised over the non-release of the funds to the concerned sericulturists for this long, sources said.
Though the project is intended to be a pride for the state, it remains a far dream till today.
The beneficiaries of the project are also said to have drawn the attention of the concerned authority and the people.
They also conveyed their urge to release the amount without any delay.
