Imphal, August 27 2009:
The Six Hill Autonomous District Council Teachers' Association and its employees (AMDCTA) have announced to launch pen-down strike from Friday alleging the state government of failing to fulfill the 'genuine' demands of the teachers.
In a press statement, general secretary of AMDCTA, Tual Khan Lal alleged that around 3888 AMDCTA employees have faced untold miseries due to the non-release of the employees' monthly salaries since March 2009.The long pending arrears of DA since 2001 to June 2005 have also not been paid.
The AMDCT and its employees have also viewed the negligence of the state government as a 'step-motherly' treatment of the SPF government, it conveyed.
The AMDCTA is demanding the release of monthly salary which remained unpaid since March 2009.Among others, the demands include release of 14 percent DA from January 2001 to June 2005, completion of NIC/MGEL by the six CEOs/ADCs in the interest of the employees, to accept the admission at DMCTE to teachers who are deputed in respect of the six HDC employees.
The association also conveyed that it would launch various forms of agitation until their demands are fulfilled.
Lining up the agitations, the statement said that sit-in-protest would be launched district-wise from September 2 and hunger strike from September 5 would be launched until their demands are met.
