Following the strong protest lodged by the JAC for the Welfare of Govt Teachers' Manipur, Chief Minister O Ibobi today assured a team of the JAC that the Rationalisation policy of teachers' transfer will be kept in abeyance until all the major flaws are worked out.
The CM also assured that the pay and salaries of the teachers will be released soon.
Earlier in the day, denouncing the non-compliance of the State Govt to appeal for revision of the rationalisation of teachers transfer policy Government school teachers staged sit-in-protest at Keishampat Junction to highlight their grievances.
Ever since a Government order was issued pertaining to the rationalisation process several errors could be detected, said representatives of the JAC which was formed to press the teachers demand for revision of the order and initiate appropriate rectification.
The erroneous order had not only become cause of concern to the teachers regarding their service record but had demoralised the teacher community in dispensing their charges in proper manner, confided representatives of the teachers body called JAC for the Welfare of Government Teachers, Manipur to newspersons at the protest site.
Contending that the body had pointed out 18 errors in the said order to the State Government followed by a meeting with the Chief Minister on June 6 where the JAC members prevailed upon the CM on necessity to review the order and rectification of the flaws.
With the JAC serving June 21 as deadline to set into motion revision and rectification which failed to evoke positive response the Government teachers were constrained to take to the streets, said the representatives in reference to the sit-in-protest.
