The Manipur Pavilion continues to attract visitors and prospective buyers in the 23rd India International Trade Fair being held at the National Capital's Pragati Maidan since the 14th of this month.
Most of the handloom and handicraft stalls in the State's pavilion are doing well at their level if not upto the level of the giant pavilions of other advanced and bigger states.
Yesterday, the 7th day of the 14-day Trade Fair, the Manipur Handloom & Handicraft Development Corporation (MH&HDC) sold handloom goods for Rs 9950 which was closely followed by the individual handloom stall of L Subadani Devi with a sales proceed of Rs 8550.As a whole, the Manipur pavilion sold Rs 694247 worth handloom, handicrafts and processed food items yesterday against Rs 57741 of the previous day.
The State pavilion has a record sale of Rs 483005 till yesterday which is counted as a major achievement in comparison with other smaller states including those in the N-E region.
L Subadani Devi of Wangkhei continues to be the overall best selling handloom stall in the Manipur pavilion during the past seven days with a total sale proceeds of a little less than Rs 68000 as against around Rs 64000 of the MH&HDC.
Details of the sale proceeds achieved by the individual stalls of the Manipur pavilion till the seventh day of the IITF are 1) L Subadani Devi, Wangkhei Rs 67790, 2) MH&HDC Rs 63860, 3) Kali Women Dev Welfare Assn, Imphal Rs 49390, 4) Kongba Mairombi WCS Ltd Kongba Bazar Rs 35830, 5) Manipur Development Society Rs 31430, 6) M Sorojini Devi, Larpham Khunou Rs 31150.
