A public meeting convened at Khamnam Leirak today unanimously resolved to administer the stringent of punishment to person/s found guilty in connection with the kidnapping and subsequent killing of eight year old Lungnila Elizabeth.
Asking all guilty persons to surrender immediately to authority concerned the meeting also expressed all possible assistance in apprehending the guilty persons while urging State police force to conduct raids during daylight to prevent confusion.
Failure to arrest the culprits by State authorities till date despite a number of days having already lapsed also came under sharp criticism and demanded handing the matter to the CBI to probe on the matter.
Media establishments were also asked to publicize related reports after minute scrutiny.
A condolence service was also held prior to starting the meeting where two minutes silence was observed for peaceful rest of departed soul.
Appeal against appeals: A public meeting held under the aegis of Malom Co-ordinating Committee at Malom Bazar Community hall today fervently appealed to all the concerned not to make appeals and give any sort of undue pressure to the Government for releasing those persons who have been taken into police custody in connection with kidnapping and subsequent killing of Lungnila Elizabeth.
The meeting strongly felt that such appeal and pressure might impede in trying to bring out the truth of the matter and urged advocates not to help in bailing the suspects.
The meeting condoled the death of the innocent girl child and pay rich floral tributes to her photograph, besides observing two minutes silence as mark of respect to the departed soul.
