Two activists of PULF (MI Khan) group including the fighting commander recently arrested at New Delhi by a team of state police commandos in a joint operation with personnel of the 57 Mountain Division with the assistant of Delhi Police were brought back to Imphal today.
The two activists Md Rajaoddin Khan alias Amu (28) son of Md Sah-uddin of Lilong Turel Ahanbi and Md Fajuzur Rehman alias Anil alias Abbas (33) son of late Md Raja-ul Haqu of Thoubal Moijing were apprehended from a place in New Delhi on June 15 by the combined team.
They have been in the custody of the Delhi police where a case against them registered.
While causing arrest to them, the combined force also recovered a laptop, a printer with a suitcase containing a huge amount of amount of money and RC books of vehicles.
They were shifted from a jail in New Delhi in connection with pending cases against them.
Police charged them involving in as many as 14 cases of which the most sensitive one was that of murder of two women from Chandel, PS Lori Anal and LH Ital Anal on March 22, 2008 after harassing them before shooting to death.
They were further charged of killing of a teacher from Mayang Imphal and a pradhan from Lilong and shooting to injure some other pradhans, police added.
A team of Thoubal police led by additional SP, H Jogeshchandra and inspector Binodkumar brought them with the cases against them pending with the police by an Indigo flight.
In the meantime, an agency report said that an activist of Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), identified as S Ramesh alias Ramen, was arrested from Paltanbazar area of Guwahati yesterday.
He was among the four undergrounds nabbed by the Assam police who stepped up search operations in Guwahati following intelligence reports that militant outfits, particularly the NDFB, was planning to carry out subversive activities in the run up to the Independence Day celebrations.
