Around 100 loaded trucks stranded as the repairing works of the damage road portion of the NH-39 near Maram Bazar due to landslide is yet to complete even as the works has started taken up.
Officials said that it will take more than two days in the completion of works.
The landslide has also caused damages to as many as eight houses nearby.
According to an official source, the repairing works of the damaged road which is about 80 feet has begun by the workers of the state PWD from today.
As the road has been slide down for about 30 feet deep, the authority is making a new road by cutting on the hill.
When a team of reporters from Imphal visited the landslide area, PWD workers along with two JCP were found put into service in cutting the rocks on the hill side to make around seven meter width road.
Personnel of the 22 Assam Rifles are also assisting in the road making works.
The road making works will not be able to complete in the next two or three days but food path for crossing the damaged portion has been completed.
Crossing of any kinds of vehicles will not be agreed, officials of the PWD at the site said.
People from both Senapati and Imphal side and from Mao side are crossing the area on foot and catching taxi service vehicles like Tata Sumo to reach their respective destinations.
MLA K Raina inspected the landslide site today.
He has asked the authority concerns to complete the road cutting works at the earliest considering the grievances facing by the people.
He also expressed believed that the road making works will be completed at the earliest with the manpower put into service by the PWD authority.
Observing shortage of manpower and machines in the repairing work, the MLA also urged the authority for sending more manpower and machines so as the works could be speed up.
Meanwhile, around 100 loaded trucks were stranded on Mao side of the road owing to the damaged of the road due to landslide, occurred yesterday morning.
Meanwhile, president of the Maram Students' Union, Pungdi S Celestine expressed worried over the disconnecting the NH-39 at Maram Bazar and requested the state government to give emphasis in repairing works and efforts to resume normal traffic.
The union is also providing assistances to the truckers and passenger stranded at the site, he said urging the authority to maintain the road properly.
He also informed that around eight houses were damaged by the landslide.
