A team of police commandos on frisking and checking duty at Hatta Minuthong yesterday night were alleged of taking away of Rs 1.4 lakh from the possession of a youth intercepted by them.
The amount was allegedly taken away from one Hamom Somorjit son of H Komla of Moirang Khoiru Leikai.
He intercepted with the police commandos last night around 8.30 pm at Hatta Minuthong, said Somrojit to reporters today at a press briefing here, in Imphal.
The amount he possessed for medical treatment of her mother was taken away by commandos who picked him up after he was carried to some places.
He was released near a NRL Pump at Koirengei last night itself.
He said that the amount, Rs 1.4 lakh, in his possession was mean for her mother's medical treatment.
He said the matter clearly to the police commandos who detained him.
However, one of the personnel blind folded him and taken into a Gypsy vehicle and the Yamaha motorcycle, he came with was taken by another personnel.
They drove the vehicle from one place to another and also stopped for some moments at some of the places.
It was at around 11.45 pm, they stopped near the NRL Pump at Koirengei and took away all the money threatening to kill him he disclosed the matter to others.
While recalling the ordeal incident of last night, he drew the attention of the higher authorities of the police department in taking up appropriate action against the police personnel involved in the crime lamenting that he is not satisfied with the act of looting and threatening people by the police commandos who are for the security of the civil populace.
He also demanded refund of the amount illegally collected from him by the police commandos.
However, he is yet to lodge complaint with the police station concerned, he added.
