With an enviable first class first score, Kamaljit Chirom has topped in the MA Mass Communication (Special)-one-year course examination, 2009 (May) conducted by the Manipur University.
The results of the examination was declared on January 13.All the 13 students who appeared in the examination got through.
A resident of Lamsang Bazar in Imphal West District, Kamaljit is the youngest of eight children (seven sons and one daughter) born to the family of Chirom Nabadwip Singh and Chirom Kulabati Devi.

Other earlier achievements of Kamaljit include winning gold medal for Ist class Ist in PG Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from Manipur University, 2007-08 and qualifying for JRF in the NET examination of June 2009 in Mass Communication and Journalism, thus becoming the first JRF in the subject from Manipur University.
Notably, Kamaljit did one-month intern from The Sangai Express towards completion of his PG Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication in 2008.He also did another one-month intern from the daily for completion of his MA in Mass Communication in 2009 .
