Meteorological office in Imphal has alerted that in the next 24-hour powerful thunderstorms is likely sweep across Manipur.
This bad news for the state of Manipur came after scores of people were killed by the storm in West Bengal on Monday.
A cyclonic system with a maximum diameter of 250-350 km with wind speeds of 120 kmph has swept across West Bengal on Monday.
Manipur is one state in the Northeast region where cyclone and destructive thunderstorm are prone.
A couple of weeks ago, a thunderstorm had occurred in Manipur killing a person and damaging properties in big scale.
That calamity caused the power cut for a few days in the state.
Farmers were the worst hit by the May first week thunderstorm.
