Members of the RSP, CPI, CPI(M) and AIFB state units who took part in the protest rally at New Delhi on price hike, a mass court arrest stir today announced that another protest, mass court arrest, will be launched on May 8 in Imphal as part of continue protest against price hike in the state.
The announcement was made in a felicitation function of 64 members of the state units of RSP, CPI, CPI(M) and ATFB took part in the protest rally organised by the left parties on price hike at the national capital, New Delhi on March 12 last.
The fanction was held at the official quarter of the state health and family welfare minister, Ph Parijat.
State secretary of the CPI, Manipur State Council, Langol Iboyaima, former state secretary BB Sharma, Athokpam Lala, ex-MLA Dr M Nara and minister himself attended the felicitation function.
L Shotinkumar, who led the team in New Delhi, criticized the UPA government at the centre for not taking up appropriate measures to control the price rise issue facing in the country.
The prices of the essential commodities are sky rocketing, Public Distribution System (PDS).
The new economy policy of the government resulted in amassing wealth by the capitalists.
Privatization policy has hurt the poor section of the society, he lamented.
Reiterating that CPI is a party for the poor and weaker section of the society, Langol Iboyaima criticized the UPA government for anti-people economy and privatization policies which give immense hardship to the poor people of the state which constitute 80% of the total population.
It is the bounden duty of the party to rise voice against the anti-people policy which would hard the poor section of the society, he said demanding implementation of food security act in the state and food security for the people.
Former MLA, Dr M Nara said, if not confronted all odd, the society could not march ahead to bring changes.
It would be wrong to blame on luck for all sufferings.
"We must fight for the poor and weaker section of the society.
State health and family welfare minister, Ph Parijat said, the prices of goods are sky rocketing at all India level.
But price control is in the hand of the Central government, state government could nothing in this regard.
