The complaint room of the Electricity Department at Khurai Lamlong under Porompat Police Station, was found locked up by unidentified persons at around 11 am today.
However, when contacted in this regard, the Porompat Police Station maintained that there is no such incident.
According to information culled from the site of the incident, the complaint room of the Electricity Department was locked up by three women who came in an autorickshaw at around 11 am today.
At the time of locking up the room with the paddock brought by them, none of the employees have arrived.
They put the padlock over another padlock with which the room was being locked already.
It may be recalled here that the JAC formed in protest against the abduction of EE Thangjam Tomalchand and SO Laitonjam Mangi by proscribed UPPK have already expressed strong resentment over the failure of higher officials of the Electricity Department to secure the safe release of the two abducted engineers and also announced its decision of closing down the offices of the Department, stopping power supply, imposing indefinite bandh along Imphal-Ukhrul Road and Khurai area apart from launching agitation against the Power Minister concerned.
Meanwhile, in continued protest demonstration against the abduction, womenfolk of the area staged a Wakat Meepham near the crematorium of Khurai Thangjam Leikai today demanding safe release of Tomalchand and Mangi on humanitarian ground.
