Around 50 women from the state will participate in the rally to be held under the aegis of All India Working Women's Forum on December 4 from Ramlila ground to Parliament House at Delhi to demand the protection of women's rights and equality.
Addressing a press meet in this connection at Irabot Bhawan today, co-convenor of All India Working Women's Forum, Dr Bidyalakshmi said, the women's representatives will submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister after the rally.
The memo will include demands to ensure implementation of equal pay for equal work, universal entitlement of maternity benefits, universalisation of ICDS program, granting minimum wages and social security benefits to ASHA and Midday meal workers, she said.
Dr Bidyalakhsmi said, the memo will also demand to enact legislation based on ILO Convention on home-based work, more opportunities for skill development and jobs for women in all sectors, easy loan and credit to women of poor, weaker and vulnerable sections for livelihood opportunities in small and tiny sectors for improving earnings and early passage of law for prevention of sexual harassment at workplaces.
She added that a signature campaign has been launched for the same in the state.
She expected that around 5lakh women would sign on the memorandum.
