Operation Red Star launched by People's Liberation Army (PLA), the armed wing of the RPF, against the security forces from June 25, 2003 to February 25, 2004 has been concluded successfully, assistant secretary of communication and publicity of Revolutionary people's Front Lily Leima claimed.
The concluding ceremony of the Operation was held on March 7 at the General Headquarters of PLA and all the cadres who took part in the operation were congratulated and accorded a warm welcome, Lily Leima informed in a statement today.
Chronicling the events, achievements and setbacks of the operation, Lily Leima said that as many as 16 enemies were killed and injured 29 others in 25 different attacks launched by the PLA cadres during the operation.
Besides PLA cadres also snatched one SLR along with 20 rounds of ammunition from the hands of the enemies.
Two cadres of PLA sacrificed their lives while another sustained injuries, the statement added.
Regretting the bomb blast at Lilong bridge which killed six innocent people and left many other wounded due to failure of the electronic device, the outfit had also apologized to the public sincerely, the statement noted.
