Imphal, March 14:
Strongly condemning the killing of Kh Tejkumar by Assam Rifles personnel during the Holi festival, the Joint DM College Students' Union has asked all schools and colleges to hoist black flags from March 15 to mourn the death of the youth, who was a student of DM College.
Announcing this, members of the student body called upon all student organizations of all the educational establishments to attend a meeting tomorrow at the DM College of Commerce.
Lambasting the political leaders for doing nothing while innocent students are being killed by the security personnel, the students said they would apply due pressure on the Government to ensure that such ugly incidents do not recur.
The students also asked the Government to come out with the status and progress report of the investigation into the case.
As the security personnel have no respect for the law of land, they have no business to be here under the pretext of upholding the rule of law, they contended.
On the proposed rally to be taken out on March 17 to protest the excesses of the security personnel, the students said that they are all ready for the rally and pledged to make it a success.
