All Zeliangrong Students' Union (AZSU) (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) has deplored Imphal-Tamenglong Road Transport Co-operative Society Limited and Ching-Tam Road Transport Co-operative Society Limited for allegedly disrupting the smooth functioning of roster system along Imphal-Tamenglong route.
The two transports' bodies are creating havoc to sabotage the good intention of the student organizations for safe conduct of passenger service, AZSU president G Ningthaodai alleged in a statement.
Zeliangrong Union, Zeliangrong Youth Front and Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur in collaboration with Manipur Transport Joint Coordinating Committee (MTJCC) have decided to implement the roster system after much efforts, consultations and joint meetings.
But the said two societies have repeatedly failed to co-operate in the efforts and instead they have threatened students leaders, the statement lamented.
Informing that the documents of vehicles seized for not observing the rooster system have been returned back to all the transporters concerned but ITRTCS and CTRTCS, the Zeliangrong students' body made it clear that the buses of ITRTCS and CTRTCS would not be allowed to ply along Imphal-Tamenglong road.
Meanwhile, a joint meeting of the Imphal Tamenglong Road Transport Co-Operative Society Limited and Ching Tam Road Transport Co-Operative Society Limited was held at the THAU Ground here today chaired by S Dijamani Sharma chairman Imphal Tamenglong Road Transport Co-Operative Society Limited.
Members present in the meeting unanimously resolved to appeal to the Zeliangrong Students Union to release the seized documents of the buses before March 16 failing which the society members would be constrained to launch various forms of agitation against the union.
