Imphal, January 20 2010:
The National general secretary of Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) KN Ramachandran, who is currently in Imphal, has charged the Congress and the Communist Party of India with suppressing the rights and the rightful share of the people in Manipur.
Talking to mediapersons here today, Ramachandran contended that now there is no difference between corrupted political parties like Congress and CPI.
Elaborating, he said there is no co-ordination between the mouth and the hands of these two political parties and they have no concern about the welfare of the poor labourers and the working classes.
The only difference between the two political parties is their separate names.
Ramachandran further observed that although the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh led-UPA Government has been repeated boasting about cooked up growth rates, more than one billion toiling and oppressed masses in the country are facing ever increasing pauperisation due to price rise, unemployment and cutting down of even the existing meagre welfare measures.
In fact, the Central Government is today working over time to fatten big businessmen like Amabani, Tata, Birla, etc, he added.
Ramachandran went on to say that the anti-people nature of the Central and the State Governments is clear from imposition of black laws like Armed forces Special Powers Act for decades in selective region like the North East and Jammu & Kashmir inspite of growing opposition from the people.
The armed forces are supposed to save the country from external forces, but they are being deployed to suppress the people of the country in heinous ways, he observed.
It is in this situation that Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) is calling for a country-wide movement of the workers, peasantry and other oppressed classes/sections to resist pauperisation and neo-colonial slavery.
The party is trying to mobilise all spirited left and democratic forces in this struggle for people's democracy and socialism, Ramachandran informed, while appealing to all democratic forces , toiling and oppressed masses of Manipur to join in this crucial struggle.
Meanwhile, in a joint statement, Ramachandran and N Rajesh Moirangcha of CPI (M-L), Manipur State Committee said that CPI (M-L) fully upholds the 2000 years old history of Manipuri people and it respects the sentiments of the people and their National cause.
