Imphal, November 12:
Organisers of Dawn, 2006 have been charged with violating the rules and regulations of the programme framed by themselves.
Dawn 2006 was organised by Bright Films, Manipur at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT) recently.
Addressing a press conference at its Lalambung Makhong office today, secretary of Imagee Shenglaba Leikol Ashigee Nachomshingeedamak (ISLAND) Rabikanta said the conduct of the organiser of Dawn 2006 has given the impression that the programme was organised just for the sake of earning profit.
Rabikanta informed that various complaints have been lodged on the alleged violation of rules and regulation already laid down and announced to the people, but the organiser did not listen.
Supplementing the charges, Rabikanta said although it was against the rules to include any song of the film which have not yet been certified by the Censor Board, yet songs from the film Sita were included during the programme.
Among the jury members, there were also many persons who are not experts in the field of dance with exception to Radhesana and Romi, Rabikanta said.
Even in the group dance competition, as the dance group Spirit of Khwai Nahabam Bramhapur which was in the serial number one but could not come in time for the performance was given the first position after making them to perform toward the end of the first phase of the programme while the Kha-Potsangbam Musical Association which was in the serial number six was not allowed to perform at all on alleged charge on delayed in completing their make-up, Rabikanta said, adding that turning down the request for allowing the musical association to perform at the end just like Spirit was really condemnable.
