Two persons have been rounded up and released after appropriate disciplinary action for misusing name of PREPAK organisation, informed the outfit's Special Mobile Team commander.
Identifying the two as Takhelchangbam Hemanta alias Chinglen (38) s/o T Nodia Singh of Sagolband Meino Leirak and Thoudam Boyai (38) s/o Th Joykumar of Khurai Thoudam Leikai, the commander accused the duo of collecting an amount of Rs 3,50,000 from some contractors for their personal use.
Moreover, without authorisation of the organisation, Hemanta and Boyai had attempted to extract 2 percent from various departments apart from misusing name of a party officer to get employment, contended the commander.
On getting specific information about the duo's anti-party activities members of the Special Mobile Team hauled up the two accused and disciplined them before setting them free with a stern warning not to repeat such acts in future.
PREPAK further warned of stern punitive action against any body found to be maligning image of the organisation.
Surrenderees on rampage: In a strong protest movement against failure of State Government to recruit 37 surrendered UG cadres into the Manipur Police Department even as they have been appointed as followers of State security forces, three inter-state buses were damaged by a group of surrenderee today morning near the gate of 2nd MR.Speaking to reporters today, a spokesman of the surrendered UG cadres said that severe agitation would be launched without any respite the responsibility of which should be solely borne by the State Government and the individuals concerned.
He further demanded that Noor Hussain, Madan and Jingam Pao arrested by police on charges of vandalising buses and closing down bus counters should be released unconditionally.
