BSNL opens second Customer Service Centre

To reduce work load and cater to the needs of its growing customers more efficiently, the second Customer Service Centre of Bharat Sanchar Ningam Limited, Manipur has been opened at Lamphel Telephone Exchange building here today.
Lamenting over the lack of co-ordination, Senior General Manager, BSNL Manipur, J Ganta, ITS, who inaugurated the second Customer Service Centre as chief guest, pointed out that no damage would have been caused to the cable lines if the Government had consulted the officials of BSNL before taking up any developmental works.
The inaugural function was also attended by Additional General Manager J Lumkim, ITS as functional president and Deputy General Manager (Finance), Manipur KK Kundu as guest of honour.
Speaking at the occasion, Ganta said that the second Customer Service Centre has been opened at Lamphel for the convenience of the customers as the existing Centre at the congested Bapurara has not been able to meet the need of the ever increasing customers.
On other activities of BSNL, Ganta informed that taking into consideration the difficulties in laying the cable line, wireless broadband service with the help of Wimax technology has been introduced at different places of the State, namely Kangpokpi, Thoubal, Churachandpur, Kakching and Sawombung.
This is for the convenience of the people living outside Imphal.

In his presidential address, Lunkim appealed to the customers to make use of the second Customer Service Centre opened at Lamphel Telephone Exchange.
In order to resolve the problem of congestion and reduce the workload at the main service centre, efforts are also on to set up customer service centres in other parts of the State, he added.
Later interacting with mediapersons, Ganta disclosed that BSNL has requested the State Government for giving compensation in connection with damages caused to the cable line and other properties of BSNL.
The loss suffered was to the tune of over Rs 15 crores.
There would have been no such damage or loss if the Government had consulted the officials of BSNL before taking up any developmental work.
The service being rendered by BSNL is not just for profit but to facilitate communication among the people, he observed.
Informing that BSNL would continue to survey for understanding the needs of the people, he also appealed to the people for coming to the newly inaugurated Customer Service Centre in case they have any doubt or apprehension in connection with the service being provided by BSNL.
