Sagar Prasad set free, bandh called off

Sagar Prasad of Kangpokpi who was kidnapped by unidentified persons has been freed today.
With the release of the young 14 year old student, bandh called in Sadar Hills area from this midnight has been called off.
Speaking to media persons today, Ngamlien Haokip, convenor of the JAC Against Kidnapping of Sagar Prasad, said that the student was abducted from Sapermeina on February 20 by some unidentified persons in connection with a demand of Rs 50 lakhs.
Sagar Prasad was freed by the kidnappers at Koubru Leikha at around 2 am today.
He reached Sapermeina by bus this morning.
While in the custody of his captors which lasted for a week, Sagar Prasad was given meal only once and water three times.

After the abduction of Sagar Prasad who is reading in class IX at KT Higher Secondary School Kangpokpi, one group of KCPMC reportedly served a demand of Rs 50 lakhs to his father, the JAC convenor said.
He said that the proposed 24 hours bandh against abduction of the young student has been called off as the abducted student has been freed safe and sound.
But the media persons could not meet Sagar Prasad as he was away at hospital for health check-up.
