LEADERS OF the group of KCP(MC) who approached for en-masse surrender to the government held talks with the representatives of the government tonight at the banquet hall of the 1st Manipur Rifles.
Official source said that the talk was held under the chair of the state principal secretary (home), DS Poonia.
The deputy director of SIB, Binoy Anand Jhah also attended the meeting as representative of the Central government.
State DGP, Y Joykumar and his under rank officer of the Manipur government also attended the talk.
Mention may be made a group of KCP(MC) led by one Hitendra who approached the Centre directly for mass surrender held the first round tripartite preliminary talk with the official of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the state government represented by the chief secretary, principal home secretary (home) and DGP in new Delhi in the first week of this month.
In the meeting which prominently focused on the benefits that could enjoy by the militants under the surrendered policy of the state government and on the conditions which the cadres of the KCP(MC) group are to surrender.
Today's meeting was a follow up of the preliminary round meeting in which the parties involved in the first week talks agreed upon.
The recent talk, mention may be made, had agreed to hold another rounds of talk at the earliest.
