Imphal, December 20 2008:
MANIPUR Governor and chief secretary will leave Imphal tomorrow to attend a meeting called by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to review the law and order situation.
The meeting is to be held on Monday, official source said.
During the meeting at the PMO office, state Governor Gurbachan Jagat and chief secretary Rakesh will brief on the law and order situation of the state and the steps taken up by the state government to control the law and order, the source said.
Source also related the series of meeting held under the chair of the state chief minister in his office bungalow with the top brasses of the state and Central forces with the preparation of reports on the law and order of the state to be tabled in the meeting.
Mention may be made that chief minister O Ibobi chaired a meeting of the Apex Security Co-ordination meeting on December 18 last and reviewed the law and order of the state with special reference to blockades imposed on the Imphal-Mao section of the NH-39 .
