Checking of vehicles passing through Nagaland has been intensified at various places,official reports said.
The checkings are done mainly in those vehicles comning from Imphal.
Furthermore it is said that police and other government officials are extorting various forms of taxes from these vehicles.
Besides there are militant elements demanding their pound of flesh.
These militants make their presence from the Senapati market.
They ask many screwball questions like whether the buses are ferrying jerrycans of country liquor.
The two check points flanking the Kohima town are the places where checkings are done in a very minute manner.
The angry drivers and their cleaners say that once Rs 300 or so is paid to the official manning the gate there should be no further check.
