AIM beats KLASA, clinches champion

The 1st Lamyanba Irawat Memorial Invitation Football Tournament, 2009 organised by Meitei Council Moreh at Eastern Shine School ground under the aegis of All Manipur Football Association and District Sports Association Chandel has concluded today with AIM, Khabam winning the champion's trophy.
It may be recalled that the tournament was commenced from March 25 last with 10 different teams competing in three groups.
The final match was played between Anouba Imagi Mangal (AIM) Khabam and KLASA, Keinou.
AIM defeated KLASA 7-6 in tie break and won the champion's title.
Players of both teams played the match with full determination to win.
They tried at various moments to scored goals against each other throughout the match.
But it was hard for them to dominate over one another as both teams' players played the match with almost equal skills and tactics.
No players of both teams could not scored any goal agianst one another in the first few minutes.
As the match progress, Romen Kom of AIM scored one goal against KLASA in the 16th minute of the match and opened his team's goal account.
With one goal ahead of them, players of KLASA played the match more substantially to equalise the score position.
In their hard efforts to equalise the score position, Dicerung Dangmei of KLASA scored one goal against AIM in the 26th minute of the match thus opening his team's goal account and equalising the score position.
KLASA players' heart were full of joy when they equalise the score position.
But their joy were shortlived as their joyfull hearts were shattered by a sudden goal of Ng Santosh of AIM against them in the 30th minute of the match.
They were taken by surprised and the goal shocked them all.
But they recovered soon and striked back one goal against AIM in the very next minute.
It was scored by Dicerung Dangmei.
The first half concluded without any further goal by both teams.
In the second half too both teams' players tgried hard to dominate over one another and score goals against each other.
But it was not impossible as all of them played the match with almost equal skills and tactics.
Spectators witnessed a raging match between the two teams in the second half.
However hard they tgried to score goals agianst one another none could scored a single goal against one another and the match concluded without any further goals by both teams' players.
The match ended draw with score position 2-2 for both teams.
In the tie break kick, Santosh, Bipinchandra, Ng Arunkumar, R Romen Kom and Kh Tejkumar of AIM hit the target and hiked up their team's goal account to seven.
On the other hand P Kennedy, S Homeshwor, Dicerung Dangmei and M Milan of KLASA hit the target while L Rabichandra missed and wind up losing the match to AIM by one goal in tie break.
R Romen Kom, Jadumani of AIM, Khabam and P Kennedy of KLASA, Keinou were issued a yellow card each for their unsporting behaviour during the match.
AIM, Khabam won the champion's title while KLASA, Keinou had to satisfied themselves with the runners up's title.
Man of the final match's title went to Dicerung Dangmei of AIM for his performance in the final match today.
Kh Nanao of UPAA was honoured with the title of best goalkeeper.
Dicerung Dangmei of AIM and Kiran of UPAA shared the top scorer's award with three goals each in their credit in the tournament.
Manipur Brothers' Sporting Union (MBSU) Wahengbam Leikai won the title of fair play team for their well mannered behaviour in the whole course of the tournament.
The best player's title went to L Herojit of AIM.
Dr N Iboton, Dean of Central Agricultural University (CAU) graced the closing function as chief guest.
L Imobi, President, Meitei Council Moreh, (MCM) presided over the function.
