Jayenta of the musical band Tapta was invited to perform in connection with a religious function of Lainingthou Lam Ahingba on March 27 .
Although Jayenta had already taken Rs 23,000 for the show, the singer arrived for the concert at 7 pm even as it was agreed that the concert should begin from 4 pm.
Instead of starting the concert which was already late, Jayenta kept on drinking liquor.
At this, the enraged organisers and the local villagers cancel the musical concert and they even tried to assault Jayenta.
Following an apology from Jayenta, the organisers and the band came to an understanding under which Jayenta returned back Rs 5000 (out of Rs 23,000 he had taken for the show) then and there with the assurance that the remaining amount of Rs 18,000 would be given back by March 29 .
As security for the remaining amount, the organisers kept back 12 numbers of loud speakers.
A team of Bishnupur police commandos came to take the loud speakers on March 29 but they went back without taking the speakers after the local people told them about the preceding incidents.
But they again came back to take the speakers yesterday.
Even as the local Meira Paibis objected, the commandos forcibly took away the speakers injuring one woman in the process, conveyed the press release issued by the Thougal Lup.
On the other hand, a public meeting held in the village last night has decided to take up necessary steps in association with civil organisations in order to ban Jayenta from performing at any musical concert.
