The progress of implementation of the projects and schemes taken up with the Prime Minister's package in Manipur was reviewed today by the state chief secretary, DS Poonia at his office chamber.
The chief secretary is scheduled to hold another round of meeting to review projects taken up in the state under the Special Plan Assistant (SPA) 2008-09 and progress of expenditure for quarter ending September 30 for annual plan 2009-10 tomorrow.
Official source said that chief secretary DS Poonia today reviewed progress works of projects and schemes taken up in the state like development of four-lanning of NH-39 from Maram to Imphal, double lanning of Maram-Paren road in Senapati district, development of Old Cachar road into motorable road.
It also discussed on the progress of construction works of Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal Railway line in the meeting in which principal secretary (power), commissioners of works, transports, technical education, MAHUD, chief engineers of power, PWD, directors of MAHUD, transport and controller of technical education attended.
Concern officials were asked to speed up the implementation works for timely completion of the projects and schemes.
The work progress of Loktak down stream Hydro-electric project (1500 MW), Loktak Down Stream HE Project (90 MW), electrification of 268 de-electrified tribal villages, electrification of 477 virgin tribal villages were also discussed in the meeting, the source said.
The said works were taken up with the package from Prime Minister to the state of Manipur.
Government has also earmarked Rs 17300 lakhs for power and non-conventional sources of energy.
The amount include Rs 5000 lakhs for Accelerated Power Development and Reform Programme (APDRP), Rs 500 lakhs for REC (Rural Electrification Corp) loan, Rs 500 lakhs as state matching share matching share for Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY), Rs 1000 lakh as state equity share for Loktak Down Stream, Rs 1050 lakh earmarked for convergence of activities of management and conservation of Loktak Lake with the ongoing programme of the department.
The chief secretary will also hold another round of meeting to review the progress of implementation of projects under SPA, 2008-09 and progress of expenditure for quarter ending September 30, 2009 for the annual plan 2009-10 .
Mention may be made that planning commission of India approved the total outlay of Rs 2000 crores as annual plan outlay for the current financial year 2009-10 for the state including Rs 550 crore SPA.
Sectoral and sub-sectoral allocation of the approved at had also been finalized and provided to each department asking them to submit their recast plan within coming October 31 .
